Tasting: Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Bonanza Cabernet Sauvignon
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: California
Country: USA
Year: 2018

Critic Review: "An opulent Cabernet Sauvignon from California, the Bonanza Lot 4 provides a mouthful of happiness at every sip. Aromas of berry jam, dark cherry, dried herbs, black pepper, leather, mocha, and oak. Full body, with silky tannins and soft acidity, the wine exposes a dense and delicious finish of strawberry jam, dark cherry, violet, graphite, cocoa, spices, vanilla and oak. Enjoy!" - Christian Marcoux

Personal Review: This was a bottle that my roommate had bought for himself that he had me try as well. When I first smelled the wine, I smelled hints of dark cherry, possibly blackberry, as well as hints of spice to it. When I first tasted this wine, it started out a little bit bitter which is not what I typically enjoy, but it finished off much sweeter than is started. It still tasted like cherry and it had a bit of spice to it that is harder to describe. I would probably drink this wine again.
